Moana Hideaway is a comfortable, cozy, and attractive beach front family-style home that has returned to our exclusive portfolio of better quality beach homes as an upscale residence with an updated interior decor. The home features Italian leather sofas in the main house and cottage living rooms, original oil paintings, central air conditioning, a beach-entry ocean view heated swimming pool, a hot tub spa that cascades into the swimming pool, a cocktail and grilling cabana with an ice maker, fridge, deluxe grill with side burner, wet bar sink, and verdant tropical landscaping surrounds the home. The sandy shoreline in front of the property is open to the public, as are all beaches throughout the State of Hawaii.

Additional amenities at Moana Hideaway include bathrobes, high thread count cotton linens, and a well equipped kitchen. Please enjoy the high speed wireless internet access at no charge, USA and Canada calling at no charge, multiple ethernet jacks for fast hard-wired connections, 7.1 surround sound system with Apple TV, an iPod dock, NFL Red Zone, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, an X-BOX 360 HD, Xbox One and Wii game console systems, an assortment of board and video games, a safe for your valuables, and multiple flat panel high resolution televisions.

The main house, with 3 bedrooms, 2.5 bathrooms, living/dining/kitchen was built in 2007. The separate cottage is older construction but was newly remodeled as of March 2022. The cottage has one bedroom, one small bathroom, and a small kitchen and living room. It is situated apart from the main house but within the gated property. The separate cottage its own washer/dryer. NEW PHOTOS COMING SOON!

Please note: Construction was initiated on the vacant lot across the street from the property in December 2023. Work can take place from 8:00am to approximately 5:00pm Monday through Friday and some Saturdays. Some days noise may be heard from the separate cottage at Moana Hideaway located at the front of the property near the road.

Moana's thoughtful owners have provided many special touches including a newly gated entry, large driveway with plenty of parking, an office work space with printer, security system, chef's knives, a state-of-art cappuccino and espresso maker & grinder, a computer with flat panel monitor for guest use, printer, PlayStations 3, 4 and 5, Xbox HD 360, Xbox One, Wii game console, Alexa, Virtual Concierge, SONOS, a library of books, X-Box games, PlayStation games, and a library of CD and DVD discs.

A sprawling green grass lawn reaches from the Hideaway to the sandy shore, providing plenty of room to run around and play, or for a game of croquet or volleyball. The sandy shore in front of Moana Hideaway is sheltered by an ancient off-shore reef. The ocean gently laps along the shoreline, providing a terrific lagoon-like area of shallow warm water which is ideal for use by young children. If you are seeking a postcard perfect broad white sand swimming beach with sandy bottom, simply hop in your rental car and within minutes you will find no less than a dozen different sandy beaches to choose from. Most all nearby beach parks feature adequate free parking, restrooms, showers, picnic tables and some are staffed with lifeguards.

Moana Hideaway is located in Kihei on the beach side of a quiet single lane residential street. The home is set back off the residential lane, therefore the ambiance of the property is serene, tranquil, relaxing, and truly a dreamy Hawaiian hideaway. The property is decorated with lovely flowering and fragrant tropical plants and plumeria (frangipani) trees. Tropical song birds also make it their home. A secluded side yard provides a hidden corner perfect for private tanning. Moana Hideaway is a charming and comfortable newly built residence which maintains a very welcoming and casual ambiance.

From the Hideaway, in one direction you may walk to the grocery store, post office, bank, restaurants, doctor's office and even to the fabulous free county operated open air heated Olympic size lap pool and kiddie pool. In the other direction, you may walk just a pinch under one mile to a large convenient public park with night-lit basketball and tennis courts, skateboard ramp, in-line skating rink, and children's play equipment. Adjacent to the park is a collection of small boutique restaurants, grocery store, bars with live music, movie theater, Starbucks, yoga studios, and ethnic restaurants.

In addition to 3 bedrooms in the Main House, there is also a separate free-standing 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom cottage with a fully equipped functional kitchen, private bedroom with queen size bed, living room with HD TV/DVD, dining area, shower bath, washer/dryer, central a/c, rain showered, Toto Washlet toilet with bidet feature, covered patio, BBQ grill for 1 or 2 more guests. The cottage is approximately 50 feet from the main house. It has a separate alarm system.
Bathrooms 2 full bathrooms (both with showers only) and powder rooms in the Main House. 3rd bathroom (shower only) in the separate cottage for a total of 3 full bathrooms plus powder room. There is an outdoor shower and powder room accessible from the outdoor pool area.

Housekeeping Services Provided Our villas are extremely well stocked with an abundant supply of towels, blankets and extra bed linens, along with soap and cleaning products. There is plenty of inventory to suffice for several days. There is a laundry room within Your Own Private Paradise residence that provides a washer/dryer, laundry soap and supplies, iron/board, sewing kit, and other generous supplies. Personal laundry, clean up in the kitchen after cooking or meals, and grill cleaning, are not performed during occupied housekeeping services, unless arranged in advance and paid for separately.

For details about the inclusive no-charge (complimentary) housekeeping services provided with your reservation, please refer to the rental cost quote provided to you at the time of first placing your reservation. You will receive information about the housekeeping schedule (dates and times) upon check in. No housekeeping service on national holidays. Inclusive housekeeping service may vary based on rate paid or length of stay or property. Limited properties provide cleaning every day. Most provide one “deep” cleaning every 3-4 days based on a minimum rental term of 6 nights at advertised rate.

Reservations with inclusive housekeeping receive the following assistance per housekeeping service:
  • Change bed sheets and pillow cases, re-make beds, launder linens off-site
  • Decorative bed pillows are placed in the closet for your convenience
  • Replace stocked soap and paper products and replenish toiletries
  • Remove trash/garbage
  • Change bath towels if left on the floor or in the tub to be laundered off-site
  • Start a wash for small towels including kitchen towels
  • Wipe off bathtubs, sinks and counters
  • Surface cleaning following by a sweep/vacuum of floors and carpets in traffic areas
  • Wipe off outside furniture and counters.
  • Clean entry and patio floors as needed
  • Light kitchen tidy up
Extra Housekeeping Cost Additional a la carte housekeeping service is $55 per hour per housekeeper plus tax with a 4 hour minimum.. Advance notice is requested. Subject to availability.

Beach & Ocean Access There is direct beach access from the beautiful sprawling green grass lawn that stretches down to the sandy shoreline.
Pool A heated swimming pool is on the ocean side of the house. Outdoor Spa There is an outdoor in-ground hot tub spa that flows into the idyllic swimming pool.
Air Conditioning Central air conditioning system with two split zones in the main house. All rooms have ceiling fans. The cottage also has central air conditioning on a separate system. Air Conditioning should never be set to cool below 70-72 or the equipment may freeze or experience any other damage. Most homes and villas in Hawaii are equipped with residential grade equipment which does not provide bottomless cooling. Cooling is available to a reasonable temperature, usually in the 70-72 range on the very low end. Most guests find that a setting of 72-74 is very comfortable once a unit has been allowed to cool down and with doors and windows closed. At select properties, the air conditioning may only function to a temperature in the 72-74 range with lower temperature settings mechanically excluded. BBQ There is a propane built-in BBQ grill under a covered ocean front pavilion, along with a fridge, wet bar, sink and ice maker.
Entertainment Vizio 70" flat panel TV. Surround-sound speakers and tuner in the living room along with the newest model of Harmony master remote which operates the PlayStations 3, 4 and 5 Xbox HD 360, Xbox One (with hard drive/HD TV output/2 wireless controllers/Live headset/XBox remote), Wii, CD, DVD, iPod dock with multiple adaptors, Apple TV and HD TV with premium cable service and HD DVR.
Dining There is indoor dining for six to eight guests. Outdoor dining accommodates 8 persons.
Approx Interior Size Main House is approximately 2,290 square feet of indoor living space with a 225 square foot BBQ Cabana and 672 square foot garage. The separate cottage suite is 480 square feet inside with a 472 square foot covered outdoor patio. Approx Lot Size Approximately 17,524 square feet of ocean front property.
VILLA SPECIFIC DISCLOSURES
  • Please expect ambient audible noises typically heard in a residential neighborhood from time to time, such as a neighbor hosting a gathering, the voices of children playing, or low volume music playing from a nearby residence.
  • This home is located in a quiet residential area. Quiet hours are from 9pm to 8am.
  • The sandy shoreline in front of the property is open to the public, as are all beaches throughout the State of Hawaii.
  • The 4th bedroom is located in a separate free-standing cottage which is approximately 50 feet from the Main House.
  • All bathrooms in this home have a shower stall but no bathtub. There is an outdoor shower and a half bath by the pool.
  • On-site maintenance for interior plant care is performed weekly.
  • Please note: Construction was initiated on the vacant lot across the street from the property in December 2023. Work can take place from 8:00 am to approximately 5:00 pm Monday through Friday and some Saturdays. Some days noise may be heard from the cottage of Moana Hideaway located at the front of the property near the road. The contractor has agreed to try to let us know in advance of especially loud construction times but this cannot be guaranteed. SPECIFIC RENTAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS AS STIPULATED BY MAUI COUNTY AS A CONDITION FOR GRANTING THIS PROPERTY A SHORT-TERM (Vacation) RENTAL PERMIT/LICENSE:
  • Quiet Hours From 9:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m., During Which Time the Noise from the Short-Term Rental Home Shall Not Unreasonably Disturb Adjacent Neighbors
  • Sound that is Audible Beyond the Property Boundaries During Non-Quiet Hours Shall Not be More Excessive than Would be Otherwise Associated with a Residential Area
  • Amplified Sound that is Audible Beyond the Property Boundaries of the Short-Term Rental Home is Prohibited
  • Vehicles Shall be Parked in the Designated Onsite Parking Area and Shall Not be Parked on the Street
  • No Parties and No Group Gatherings Other than Registered Guests Shall Occur
  • Occupancy is for 2 Guests per Bedroom
  • Rental is for One Set of Guests (one family) at a time. Property is Not Rented at the Same Time to Unaffiliated Persons
